PROTOCOL FROM THE MEETING OF PLENIPOTENTIARY DELEGATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA on the settlement of Georgian- Ossetian relations

Composition of the delegations:

Republic of Georgia:

1. Margiani, Avtandil Antonovich; Vice-Premier, leader of the delegation;

2. Geladze, Merab Konstantinovich; Gouvernor of the Kazbegi region.

Republic of North Ossetia:

1. Lagkuev, Ramazan Omarovich; Deputy Chairman of Government, leader of the delegation;

2. Shatalov, Mikhail Mikhailovich; Head of Administration of the City of Vladikavkaz, Member of the Supreme Soviet;

3. Sidakov Yuriy Sultanovich: Chairman of the Committee on National Policy and Foreign Relations of the Supreme Soviet, Member of the Supreme Soviet;

4. Sikoev, Soslan Ivanovich; Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Member of the Supreme Soviet;

5. Kachmazov, Anatoliy Abramovich, Head of Migration Service.

Participants at the meeting exchanged views on ways to settle bilateral relations, confirmed their desire to reestablish good neighbourly and friendly relations and agreed to prepare a range of problems to be discussed official negotiations, and to organize a meeting between delegations of the cities of Tbilisi and Vladikavkaz.

During the discussions an agreement on the necessary to undertake joint efforts to protect the security of passengers and goods transportation on the Georgian Military Road between the cities of Tbilisi and Vladikavkaz was reached.

The next meeting of plenipotentiary delegations will be set by mutual agreement.
