PROTOCOL # 37 OF THE CO-CHAIRMEN MEETING OF THE JOINT CONTROL COMMISSION (JCC) ON GEORGIAN-OSSETIAN CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Agenda:

Immediate measures for ceasefire in the area of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

Resolution:

With a view to implement JCC’s decision (Protocol no. 36 of 13-14 August 2004) on ceasefire in the area of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, Joint Peacekeeping Forces (Major General S. Nabzdorov) are instructed as follows:

1. A squad of the JPKF Russian battalion and tripartite JPKF military observers shall be deployed in the area of the ‘Church’ height.

2. Joint three-sided JPKF peacekeeping posts shall be deployed at heights 1521,7; 1485,3 and a nameless height between them, to include four militaries from each battalion and a military observer from each JPKF battalion, for a term of three days;

3. A joint three-sided JPKF peacekeeping post shall be deployed in the area of a junction on the bypass road (‘Pauk’ (Spider)) to include four militaries from each battalion and a military observer from each JPKF battalion.

4. JPKF Commander Major General S. Nabzdorov, JPKF Senior Military Chiefs from RNO-Alania and Georgia (Colonel K. Friev, Colonel M. Kebadze) shall within three days implement the JCC’s decision (Protocol no. 36 of 13-14 August 2004) on the deployment of the joint three-sided JPKF peacekeeping post at the entrance to settlement Kekhvi from the side of settlement Java.

5. Monitoring over the implementation of these agreements shall be the responsibility of the JKPF military observers and OSCE monitoring officers who shall regularly inform JCC Co-chairmen.
