THE AD HOC COMMITTEE ON FACILITATION OF VOLUNTEER RETURN OF REFUGEES AND IDPS
AS A RESULT OF THE GEORGIAN-OSSETIAN CONFLICT TO THE PLACES OF THEIR FORMER
RESIDENCE

Agenda
of the meeting:

Information of the sides on the conducted work.

On the draft Program, submitted by the Georgian side, on return, settlement,
integration and re-integration of refugees, IDPs and others, as a result of the
Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

Nozadze, Gambashidze, Machabeli, Kochiev, Kulumbegov, Korchmar, Bertran, Nikolaev,
Roshianu, Tsoneva.
It was decided:
1.
To take note of the information of the sides on the conducted work. The sides
expressed satisfaction on the decision of the UNHCR in response to the appeal
of the plenary session of the JCC in the city of Vladikavkaz, of April of 2001
to speed up the assignment of the head of mission of the UNHCR to Georgia (it
was formerly missing during a year) and hope that this decision will facilitate
the activation of the work of Chairmanship and IDPs in the frame of his
mandate.
2. To take note of the draft Program, submitted
by the Georgian side,” on return, settlement, integration and re-integration of
refugees, IDPs and others, as a result of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict”. The program envisages the
participation of the Georgian side in the future realization of the program,
the working draft was agreed at the plenary session of the JCC in the city of

sides shall discuss in two weeks all the submitted proposals on the final
elaboration of the working draft Program.
3.
To recommend to the co-chairmen of the JCC to appeal to the UNHCR with appeal
on restoration of activities of mobile group of the UNHCR in the
Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone. (ad hoc).
4.
To underline that the speedy adoption of the Law of Georgia “On restoration and
protection of residential and property rights of refugees and IDPs” would help
the solution of the problems of refuges, IDPs and others, as a result of the
Georgian-Osetian conflict as an important dimension of peace settlement.
5.
Place and date of the next meeting of the ad hoc committee shall be decided in
the working order on agreement of the sides.
