PROTOCOL OF THE
SECOND MEETING OF EXPERTS’ GROUPS OF THE PLENIPOTENTIARY DELEGATIONS OF THE
SIDES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE NEGOTIATIONS PROCESS ON BROAD-SCALE SETTLEMENT OF
THE GEORGIAN-OSSETIAN CONFLICT.
On
September 10-11 of 1999 in the village Java took place the second
meeting of Experts’ Groups of the plenipotentiary delegations of the sides in
the framework of the negotiations process on broad-scale settlement of the
Georgian-Ossetian conflict with mediation of the Russian federation and participation
of the Republic North Ossetia-Alania and the OSCE (the list of the participants
is attached).
In compliance with the previously achieved
agreements at the meeting was discussed the draft of Interim Document on broad
scale settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict and were agreed its specific
provisions.
The sides agreed on the following:
1. To approve the agreed provisions of the draft
Interim Document on Broad scale settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict
(attached).
2. To continue meetings of the experts’ groups on
regular basis.

3. To continue work on the draft Interim Document at
the next meeting of the experts’ groups, this is scheduled to be in
November-December 1999. The date of the meeting will be determined by the
additional agreement of the sides.
