APPEAL OF THE SUPREME
COUNCIL OF THE SOVIET REPUBLIC OF SOUTH OSSETIA On impossibility of
establishing the border between North and South Ossetia
The Supreme
Council of the Soviet Republic of South Ossetia expresses its appreciation to
the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation
for its efforts in stabilizing the situation in the Republic
of South Ossetia and settling the
issue of political status of the Republic
of South Ossetia on the
basis of democratic principles and international norms.
At the same
time it should be underlined that today the Ossetian people are the victims of
gross violation of the international law, as the people are subjected to the
intentional and artificial division, without any legal, political and economic
bases.
With this
regard the Supreme Council of the Republic
of South Ossetia makes another appeal
to the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation
and asks to recognize the state independence of the Republic
of South Ossetia and consider the
issue on unification of South Ossetia into Russia. There was no state border between North and South Ossetia and it may not be in a future. The Russian border may be established only
along the southern border of the Republic
of South Ossetia with Georgia.
Adopted at the
session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of South Ossetia
