APPEAL OF THE GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT TO THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION, CONFERENCE ON THE SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE, INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS

A policy of ethnic cleansing is being implemented on a part of the Georgian territory, in Abkhazia that is controlled by Gudauta separatist group by means of Russian troops, which has taken the form of apparent genocide against civilians of the Georgian and other ethnic groups. Systematic mass murders, shootings, and unprecedented harassment forces the Georgian population to leave their places of residence.

The Parliament of Georgia evaluates this policy as a continuation of the aggression directed against our state, which targets at violation of Georgia’s territorial integrity and interfering with the independence of our state.

Russia bears the full responsibility for the above policy and supports the Gudauta separatist group for achieving its own imperialistic objectives.

The Parliament of Georgia calls international organization to take effective measures to end the aggression against Georgia, to protect the Georgian population on territories controlled by the Russian armed forces and the Gudauta group.
