PROTOCOL On Ceasefire
An extraordinary
meeting of the Joint Control Commission for the Georgian-Ossetian Conflict
Resolution took place in Tskhinval on 13
August 2004. Having considered immediate measures and implementation
mechanism for JCC decisions of 2 June 2004, 14-15 July 2004, and 31 July 2004,
directed at stabilization of the situation in the conflict zone, the meeting
participants decided upon immediate ceasefire starting from 00:00, 14 August
2004.
Measures for
separation and withdrawal of illegally established posts and armed units
deployed in the conflict zone without agreement with JCC and Joint Command of
the Joint Peacekeeping Forces shall be subject to discussion in the JCC
framework on 14 August 2004, with participation of heads of armed forces of the
sides in conflict.
