DECREE ISSUED BY THE PRESIDIUM OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA on decree issued on
The illegally convened on 4 May 1991 session of the District Council of
People’s Deputies of the former Autonomous District of South Ossetia decided to
abolish the so called Soviet Democratic Republic of South Ossetia and restore
the Autonomous Oblast of South Ossetia, which, was acknowledged as a
constituent part of the Republic of Georgia, but was declared to be under
“administrative” jurisdiction of the Soviet Socialist Federative Republic of
Russia.

provided by the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia
with regard the aforementioned provocative act.
