Consideration of the side’s proposals for final elaboration of the
project of the Russian-Georgian Interstate Program of Return, Accommodation,
Integration and Reintegration of Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and
Other Persons Suffered as a Result of the Georgian-Ossetian
Conflict

Decided.
1. The sides took as a basis the project of the program of return,
accommodation, integration and reintegration of refugees, internally displaced
persons and other persons suffered as a result of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. They agreed to submit the project of the
program for consideration of JCC Co-chairman in Moscow of the beginning of July
2002 and taking into account the possible additions and remarks to make a final
elaboration of the project aiming towards the final confirmation at the JCC session (the
project of the program attached).
2. To approved the proposal of Georgian and South Ossetian
sides to conduct meetings in Tskhinvali, Vladikavkaz and Stavropol Region
in June-July on the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons and
to address UNHCR office in
3. To suggest the JCC Co-chairmen, as per the proposal of Georgian and
South Ossetian sides, to consider in Moscow the issue
of accurate definition of the term “other persons” and to discuss Point 5 of
Chapter 2 of the project of the program.
4. To address UNHCR Georgia with a request to conduct a seminar with
participation of the interested sides on the issue of use of international
experience in return of refugees and internally displaced persons in conformity
with the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.
5. To take into consideration information submitted by C.Bertrand, UNHCR representative, on the conducted
activities. The sides noted with satisfaction the intention of the office to
continue its activities on solution of the problems of refugees and internally
displaced persons in close co-operation with the Special Committee of JCC and
expressed their gratitude to UNHCR representative for the well-organized
session of the Special Committee.
