STATEMENT OF THE SUPREME
COUNCIL OF THE RUSSIAN
FEDERATION
The Supreme
Council of the Russian Federation
expresses its deep sorrow about resumption of military operation in Abkhazia,
which entails new casualties among the peaceful population and grossly violates
Sochi Agreement of 27 July 1992, concluded under peace mediation of the Russian Federation. The Supreme Council of the Russian Federation calls upon the
conflicting sides to stop immediately the military operations.
The Supreme
Council of the Russian Federation
suggests to the Government of the Russian
federation to impose the necessary influence on the
conflicting sides through the peaceful means, without employing the military
forces of the Russian
Federation.
