DECISION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION ON WITHDRAWAL OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION FROM THE TREATY on visa-free movement of the citizens of the CIS member states on the territory of its members

The Government of the Russian Federation has decided:

To accept the proposal of the MFA of the Russian Federation, endorsed by the relevant executive federal authorities, on withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Treaty of 9 October 1992 (hereinafter referred as ”Treaty”) on visa-free movement of the citizens of the CIS member states on the territory of its members.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation shall:

a) inform the executive Committee of the CIS about withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Treaty.

The Treaty shall be assumed null and void for the Russian federation at the 90th day on receipt of the notification by the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

b) hold negotiations, together with the relevant federal authorities, with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Treaty members-states on concluding the international agreements regulating the regime of mutual journeys of the citizens.
